A Very Interesting Rose

A Very Interesting Rose

I have been growing roses here in Florida ever since I moved here fifteen years ago. The roses have been one of my favorite plants to grow since they have performed so well. When we moved to central Florida last year, I purchased 2 rose bushes to take with me. One is called Neal Diamond and it has these beautiful pinkish rose color roses.  See a picture of it below.

Spring Time Flowers in Florida

Spring Time Flowers in Florida

I love when spring time comes here in Florida because that means certain flowers are blooming. Azaleas are blooming profusely at this time. I have white, pink and red.

This bush is beside the driveway and is large. We had two of them together but because of the pool, we had to cut one down so the trucks could get in the back yard.

Plumeria Blooms

When you are under the weather, there is nothing like some sunshine to cheer you up. I have been fighting this bronchitis for over a week and frankly I am tired of feeling bad and coughing. The coughing is the worst part. Yuck!

Although the sun has been shining, it is these lovely plumeria blooms that are brightening up my day. I grew this plant from a cutting and now it is blooming. I am so excited.

Bed Pan Planter

I wasn't on my blog a lot this past week since my daughter was here from California. Now that she has left, we headed out to the yard. There is so much yard work to do. We only have an acre, but there is lots of vegetation, trees, bushes, flowers and nothing stops growing here. We spent some time pruning, cutting and raking.

I had a chance to work in my gardens that really needed it. I bought this bed pan awhile back - previously posted here.

Pansies or Violets?

Pansies love spring weather. It seems other than the typical Easter flowers, pansies are the first plants to become available in early spring. They thrive in the cooler temperatures and I love having them in my garden.

The pansy is a group of large-flowered hybrid plants cultivated as garden flowers. Pansies are derived from viola species Viola tricolor hybridized with other viola species. The common words "pansy" and "violet" are often used interchangeably.
